What We Believe at Foreknown
At Foreknown Ministries, we minister to anybody, regardless of denomination, background or religious preference. We do believe, however in these non-negotiable truths found in Scripture:
God
God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe, the only true and living God.
He is the Creator of all things (Genesis 1:1-31), and in Him, we live and move and have our being (Acts 17:28). He is the God of truth, without iniquity, all-knowing, all-powerful, all-loving, just, and right (Deuteronomy 32:4). He will judge the world with righteousness (Psalm 9:8).
God eternally exists in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal and one God, sharing the same nature, attributes, and perfections. They are worthy of the same worship, trust, and obedience (Mark 12:29; John 1:1-4; Acts 4:3-4).
God The Father
God the Father, the first Person of the Trinity, is the supreme Ruler of the universe, sovereign over creation, providence, and redemption.
He is all-powerful, all-knowing, ever-present, unchanging, and completely worthy of our trust. In Him, we live, move, and exist (Exodus 3:14; Numbers 23:19; Malachi 3:6; Acts 17:28). Out of His great love, He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to save all who trust in Him (John 3:16). As a good Father, He is loving, compassionate, and faithful to His people and His promises (John 1:12; Romans 8:15; Ephesians 1:3-6; Hebrews 12:5-9).
God The Son
Jesus Christ is the Son of God, equal with the Father and the full manifestation of God in the flesh.
He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, and lived a sinless human life. As the only begotten Son of God and the second Person of the Trinity, He is both true God and true man (John 1:1, 1:14, 1:18, 14:8-9; 1 Timothy 3:16).
Jesus offered Himself as the perfect, representative, and sacrifice for the sins of all people, fulfilling the Scriptures (2 Corinthians 5:21). He died on the cross and, after three days, rose from the dead, demonstrating His power over sin and death. He ascended into heaven, where He now serves as our High Priest and Advocate (Acts 1:3, 1:9; Hebrews 7:25-26). One day, He will return to earth to reign as King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
God The Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit is the third Person of the Trinity, equal with the Father and the Son.
His ministry is to glorify Jesus Christ (John 16:14) by making people aware of their need for salvation. He convicts the world of sin, God’s righteousness, and coming judgment (John 16:8-11). At the moment of salvation, the Holy Spirit gives new spiritual life, bringing believers into union with Christ and the body of Christ, the universal Church (Romans 8:37-39, 10:9-10; 1 Corinthians 12:13; 2 Corinthians 5:21).
The Holy Spirit dwells in every believer, providing power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in righteousness. Jesus baptizes every believer in the Holy Spirit, granting spiritual gifts at the moment of their new birth. The Spirit also comforts, instructs, and empowers believers for godly living (Mark 13:11; John 14:26, 16:13; Romans 5:5; 1 Corinthians 6:19). As Christians, we seek to live under His guidance daily, experiencing the ongoing fullness of the Holy Spirit in our lives.
The Bible
The Bible is God’s Word, written by human authors under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit.
It is inspired, breathed out by God, and perfect in its original writings. As the supreme source of truth for Christian belief and living, the Bible is without error and carries God's complete authority for the well-being of humanity.
We believe the 66 books of the Old and New Testaments are God's full and sufficient revelation. Because they are divinely inspired, they are entirely trustworthy and foundational for faith and practice (Psalm 119:97-104, 119:160; Matthew 5:18; John 5:46-47, 10:35; 2 Timothy 3:15-16).
Humanity
Humanity is made in the image of God, created to reflect His character and to be in fellowship with Him.
As the supreme object of His creation, every person possesses inherent dignity, is infinitely loved by God, and is worthy of respect and Christian love. However, through the sinful disobedience of Adam and Eve, humanity fell from its original state of innocence, bringing sin, death, and condemnation into the world.
As a result, all people are born with a sinful nature, not only by inheritance but by personal choice. Sin separates us from God, and no human effort can restore that relationship. Every person, though capable of great good, is marred by sin and in desperate need of a Savior. Without Christ, we are justly condemned, without defense or excuse. Only through Jesus Christ can we be reconciled to God and restored to the life He intended for us (Genesis 1:26-30; 2:7, 18-22; 3:1-6; Psalms 8:3-6; 32:1-5; Isaiah 6:5; Jeremiah 17:5; John 8:24; Acts 17:26-31; Romans 1:18-32; 3:10-23; 5:12; Ephesians 2; Colossians 1:21-22; 3:9-11).
Salvation
Salvation is God’s free gift, made possible through the blood of Jesus Christ, who chose to die on the cross as the full payment for our sins.
His death and resurrection provide the only way to be forgiven and reconciled to God. We cannot earn salvation through good works or self-improvement; it is received only by faith in Christ (Isaiah 1:18; 53:5-6; John 3:16, 36; Acts 4:12; Romans 1:16-18; 3:23-25; 5:8-10; Ephesians 2:8-10).
Each person who turns from a self-ruled life and places faith in Jesus Christ as Savior is born again of the Holy Spirit and becomes a child of God. Eternal life begins the moment one receives Christ by faith, securing a restored relationship with God and freedom from sin’s penalty (Romans 6:23; 10:9-10; John 1:12; 5:24; Titus 3:5; 2 Corinthians 5:17-20; Galatians 3:26; Philippians 2:12-13). Salvation is a gift of grace, and through Christ alone, we are redeemed and given new life.
